The Tricky Master - okay Wong Jing/Stephen Chow movie. Nick Cheung is annoying as fuck, but you get to see Kelly Lin in a bra twice.

My School Mate, the Barbarian - the video game tie-in is cheesy, but this is overall a good action/comedy starring Nic Tse and Stephen Fung in "Fight Club: High School Kidz".

Hong Kong Pie - fucking awful. ugh.

Musa - enjoyed this quite a bit. Liked the good and bloody action scenes.

Red River - a romantic...

Recently signed up for Netflix to take advantage of the new PS3 streaming service. They actually have quite a few HK/Asian movies compared to a couple of years ago, and for the disc rentals, the turnaround is really quick since they have a distribution center here in Minneapolis. The video/audio quality on the streaming movies is actually very good - though it is kind of annoying that they seem to always go for the Mandarin soundtrack, even for HK movies. Bruce Lee: The Man, The Myth - not bad for Bruceploitation, though there's some silly plot elements like Bruce having to fight karate-trained Mafia members to get permission to shoot Way of the Drgaon in Rome. Bruce Li was one of the better Lee clones, and at least Lee's philosophy is treated with some respect, and there's some decent fight scenes.

Asian Cop: High Voltage - Donnie Yen stars in this shot in the Phillipines action cheapie. Some decent action scenes, but the camera tricks Donnie favored at this point in his career kind of hurt them.

Mr. Vampire 2 - Wanna see annoying kid actors? Then check this out. Lam Ching-Ying, Yuen Biao, and Moon Lee are totally misused and wasted in this snoozer.

Nowhere to Hide - tried to watch this about a year ago on IFC, couldn't get through the whole thing. Rented it the other night and managed to watch the whole movie but I was still pretty underwhelmed. Once you strip aside the camera trickery, it's a very average cops and robbers picture IMO.

I Five Venoms, is to me not quite as good as say Crippled Avengers,Fist Of The White Lotus,36th Chamber Of Shaolin and King Boxer because as you mentioned, you can't deny though the quality, the training montages and in fact the bad ass presence of the scorpion fighter wasn't awesome. It also inspired Mortal Kombat.

I saw Return Of The Master Killer, Which I was Amazed hadn't been reviewed, likewise it was decent but not up to the original, It was more a remake than...

Godzilla: Final Wars... first asian movie I've watched in AGES. It was goofy as shit, but fun. Nice seeing Tak Sakaguchi in it, even if he didn't say a word.

Hong Kong History X - okay "young Triad" movie. Better than the other Kenneth Lau movies I've seen, but that isn't saying much. And to quote the long-gone WoodyInvincible, I want to bone Yoyo Mung.

The Five Venoms - haven't watched this for ages, checked out the new Dragon Dynasty DVD tonight. Still holds up really well, but I was kind of struck by just how little actual fighting there is in it. Much more of a straight drama, but a good one.

Shinjuku Incident - Jackie Chan in a Category III movie? Shocking. Actually, it's pretty tame compared to a lot of other Cat III stuff. Jackie's acting isn't quite up to par, and Daniel Wu looks silly with his Joker-esque makeup, but it's a good movie over all - but this is much more of a regular crime drama than your usual Jackie action/comedy.

The Shootout - okay early 90's picture that tries to be too many things (action, romance, comedy, etc.) and doesn't really succeed with any of them. Plus Aaron Kwok's acting is the drizzling shits. Elvis Tsui is quite good as the villain though, and there are a few good action sequences courtesy of Jackie Chan's stunt team.

Death Trance - doesn't really make a lick of sense, but it ends up being goofy fun. Steven Seagal's kid is actually very good in...

Forbidden Arsenal (aka In the Line of Duty 6) - the story is kind of crap, hampered by really bad comedy - but Cynthia Khan's cuteness and some good action sequences make the movie worth a watch.

HK Flix, like most online Asian movie retailers, don't carry much, if any Tai Seng DVDs.

And how low budget are the Tai Seng covers now? They make the Wu Tang VHS tapes from Xenon look like works of art.

I've seen both "Undefeatable" and the HK version "Bloody Mary Killer." Neither one of them are very good, but at least the latter has Robin Shou in at least one decent fight. Mandarin and Cantonese versions of "Bloody Mary Killer" are available on Amazon but, curiously, not on HKFlix.

As for Stingray, he was one low-budget villain!

Just got (finally) my copy of Undefeatable. I cannot recommend this one enough, especially for everyone out there who enjoys ridiculing movies to seek this out. I remember there was someone here complaining on why Cynthia Rothrock wasn't a star here, but Van Damme was, Watch Undefeatable and you'll see why. I mean she's the best actor in the movie but her crying sequence is enough to make even Don The Dragon Wilson seem like a master thespian....
