Fatal Move- Dennis Law had some success with his Fatal Contact and here is given waaaaaay too much rope in this almost unbearable triad drama. The stars do their best but the script is all over the damn place. As with Law's previous film, Fatal Contact, this one drags on for an excruciating 20 minutes or so. There IS some good stuff in here. The fights are enjoyable and an assault on a police precinct was awesome. And i didn't mind the cgi blood as I did in Hong Kong Bronx. Like Ken Lo in Fatal Contact, Nicky Wu is too cartoonish of a character with his gay wardrobe and blue hair. It weakens the realism of the story. Sammo Hung gets to fight Wu at the end, an enjoyable scene, but way out of place. There is absolutely no reason the fight shouls exist. Tien Niu's speech at the end was too much for me to take. Meandering and an overlong mess....with good gory action. 5/10
Temptation of an Angel- Michael Chow and Collin Chou star in this stupid mess of a sex drama. Chow's fiancee, Angel, starts an affair with Chou and deals with the confusion of it all by getting drunk and commiting suicide. Good! This is an awful Cat III sex drama. Avoid. 2.5/10
Gun Affinity- Cool cover art and a nice title duped me into watching this straight up drama involving a cache of weapons stolen from a police transport. The top suspect turns out to be the bro of the investigating officer. 90 minutes of drama with about 2 minutes of sub par action. Loleeta Lee and Sam Lee are the major actors here. Elvis Tsui, who is featured prominently on the cover, plays a minor character and has about 2 minutes of screen time. The direction is actually well done and handles the movie with care. The film needed about 5 action scenes intercut with the drama. A missed opportunity. Good direction though. 3.5/10
